The Almost Heaven Star Party (AHSP) app shows the event schedule, field map and information pages, and offers a community for attendees: a forum, a swap table and shared photos. The same community is also available in a web browser for attendees. This page explains what we collect and why. It covers the app and that attendee community. The public pages of ahsp.org may use standard website analytics, which this page does not describe.
What we collect
- Sign-in details. If you sign in to the community we collect your email address and the name you choose. We email you a one-time code to sign in. There are no passwords.
- What you post. Forum posts and replies, swap-table items and the messages you send to sellers, and photos you share.
- Notifications. If you turn on notifications we store a device notification token and your notification choices, so we can send the alerts you ask for.
- Your location is not collected. The “you are here” dot on the field map is worked out on your phone and is never sent to us.
How we use it
To run the community, email your sign-in code, send the alerts you choose, and let buyers and sellers reach each other. When you message a seller, your name and email are shared with that person so they can reply. Photos you share may be used by AHSP on ahsp.org and in the app, credited with your name. You agree to this each time you share photos.
Who can see it
Attendees whom AHSP staff have approved can see the posts, items and photos you share, along with your chosen name. We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or track you across other apps or websites. Our web host stores the data on our behalf, and push notifications are delivered through Apple, Google and the Expo notification service.
Photos
Location information stored inside a photo is removed before the photo is shared. Please share only photos you took, and ask before posting close-ups of people.
Your choices
- Delete your own posts, items and photos at any time.
- Delete your whole account in the app (Community, then your account menu). This removes your sign-in, posts, items and photos.
- Turn each type of notification on or off in the app’s Notifications screen.
- To ask about your data, use our Contact Us page.
Safety
You can report or block anything objectionable in the app. We review reports and aim to act within 24 hours, removing content and suspending accounts that break the community rules.
Children
The community is for adult attendees and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If the app changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and the date above.
